Description

Sandblasted glass panels are decorative and functional glass products treated by bombarding the surface with abrasive materials (such as quartz sand or aluminum oxide) at high pressure. This process creates a translucent, frosted texture that scatters light while obscuring clear visibility. Manufacturing principle High-pressure fine abrasive media (aluminium oxide / garnet, rarely silica sand now) bombards the glass surface, making countless tiny micro pits.
  • If cover part of glass with protective stencil before blasting: you get custom patterns, logos or partial frosted design; unmasked area becomes matte.
  • Base glass can be clear float glass, tempered glass, laminated glass(safety glass for building use).
Key propertiesKey properties
  1. Light transmission + privacy: Light passes through, but direct view is blocked; light gets diffused and reduces glare.
  2. Permanent matte texture: Not film sticker. The frosted effect is etched into glass surface, will never peel off.
  3. Surface texture: Rougher than acid-etched glass; fingerprints and dust are easier to stay on it, needs regular cleaning.
Typical applications
  • Office glass partitions, meeting room walls
  • Shower enclosures, bathroom windows
  • Glass doors, cabinet panels, interior decorative dividers
  • Custom logo, signage and architectural decorative panels.
The difference with acid-etched glass
  • Sandblasted glass: mechanical abrasive blasting, relatively rough matte surface, easy for custom patterns.
  • Acid etched glass: chemical etching, smoother and finer matte surface.
