Tempered Safety Glass

Products Description

Tempered glass, also known as toughened glass, is heat-treated safety glass. Through controlled heating and rapid cooling process, its mechanical strength is 4–5 times stronger than ordinary float glass. When broken, it shatters into small, blunt granular fragments instead of sharp shards, greatly lowering injury risks.

Vidrios Industry Tempered safety glass is manufactured through a heating and rapid cooling process that makes it significantly stronger than standard annealed glass. When broken, it does not shatter into large, dangerous shards; instead, it crumbles into small, relatively harmless, granular chunks. Because of this safety feature, it is classified as safety glazing and is mandated by building codes for hazardous locations (such as doors, shower enclosures, and low-level windows).

Products Feature

Core Advantages of Tempered Safety Glass

Tempered safety glass delivers outstanding mechanical strength and thermal stability. It resists sudden temperature changes and accidental impact. Even if damaged, it reduces the danger of serious cuts.

High Impact Strength

4–5 times stronger than regular float glass. Resists wind load and accidental impact for building glazing.

Safe Breakage Mode

Breaks into small blunt granules instead of sharp slices, minimizing cutting injury risk.

Great Thermal Stability

Withstands sudden temperature changes, resistant to thermal cracking for indoor & outdoor use.

Multi-functional Customization

Supports etching, silk screen, Low-E coating, hole drilling, edge polishing. Can be made into IGU or laminated glass.

FAQ

Q1: What thickness of tempered glass can you produce?
A1: Available thickness: 3mm,4mm,5mm,6mm,8mm,10mm,12mm,15mm,19mm. Custom sizes and edge work supported.

Q2: Is tempered glass 100% unbreakable?
A2: No. Tempered glass is stronger but not unbreakable. Hard sharp impact may break it. For ultra-high safety requirements, laminated glass is recommended.

Q3: Can tempered glass be combined with Low-E / frosted / silk screen?
A3: Yes. We can produce tempered Low-E glass, tempered acid etched glass and tempered silk screen printed glass for integrated decorative & energy-saving purposes.
